Come one and all to Family Reading Night on Thursday, February 13th. Where we can celebrate "Falling in Love With a Good Book!" Come one, come all to our Christmas Family Reading Night on Thursday, December 19th 6:30 - 8 pm! Come with your family for hot chocolate and to cozy up with a good book in front of our "digital fireplace"! Thank you all families who braved the cold and joined us for reading, hot chocolate and cookies at the St. Francis Reading Night! It was great to see so many families come out! Before Christmas, students of St. Francis participated in many acts of kindness, giving and charity by giving of their time and their hearts to the community. It became evident with these acts if generosity, that our students understand what the true meaning of Christmas is all about! Is it possible to take this spirit of generosity and extend it into the new year through acts of kindness and "bucket filling"? People often look at a new year as an opportunity to start fresh. A chance to start something new or a challenge for the best. To go with this theme, students and teachers might want to check out the book, How Full is Your Bucket? See the following link to the video on YouTube, which provides a reading of this book. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5R6-2m_qHk&sns=em I've also included a few images of bucket filling ideas extending this book. Happy New Year to all families of St. Francis! Hope everyone had a restful holiday and managed to stay warm! I'm looking forward to seeing all of you in the new year! Students, be sure to check out the new books in the library. There are plenty you can curl up with in front of the library's "digital fireplace". I meant to get this link out sooner, but be sure to check out Mrs. Boutilier's grade 3 class Christmas Reader's Theatre play recordings. This was their first time with recording, directing and producing using the Vocaroo website! Well done boys and girls! Excellent enthusiasm and energy! Click in the link below to the Google doc, then click on the individual audio recordings. https://docs.google.com/document/m/?id=1dZ826mOdFAZUC8SuPbC9mCBoqcm2gb9M5gfYJJ8BldQ&login=1&pli=1 Thank you families, students and teachers for supporting our Scholastic Book Fair. Your support helped us earn money for more books in the Library... Yay!! Congratulations to Mrs. Hindle's grade 2 class in winning the classroom draw for new books and to Savannah who won the student draw!
Thank you soooo much to all volunteers who helped to make the Book Fair a success. Your energy and enthusiasm was what really made the event so successful! You are truly the best!! |
